Your Policy Guarantees

Your QPF No. 1 policy contains several types of protection:

The “Civil Liability” protection (Chapter A)

This section protects you when you cause bodily injuries (outside of Quebec) and property damage to others. Under the direct compensation agreement, this guarantee covers you for damage to your vehicle when you are not at fault.

For more information on the direct compensation agreement, click herehttp://www.gaa.qc.ca/fr/cid-en-bref

This protection is valid throughout the territory of Canada and the United States.

Most drivers opt for protection of one or $ 2 million on their insurance policy.

“All Hazards” protection (Chapter B1)

This section protects the vehicle by combining collision or upset coverage and Comprehensive. The franchise will be the same for all damages that may occur. This protection is optional. However, if your vehicle is leased or purchased with financing, this protection may be required.

“Collision or Upset Coverage” protection (Chapter B2)

This section protects you for damages to your vehicle when you hit or are hit by an object or rollover of vehicle. This coverage is optional. However, if your vehicle is leased or purchased with financing, this coverage may be required.

“Comprehensive” protection (Chapter B3)

This section protects you for damages to your vehicle when damage is other than collision or rollover, such as broken windows, theft, fire, lightning, vandalism, and other specified perils. This protection is also optional unless a lease or financing contract requires it. This coverage is usually taken in combination with one on collision if the vehicle still has significant value.

“Specified Risks” protection (Chapter B4)

Also optional, this section only protects against the risks mentioned in the contract such as hail, lightning, etc.

We can also provide you with additional protection in the form of endorsements. For more details on these additional protections, see the following section:  Additional protections (endorsements).
